Continuous Discovery session

Subject: Continuous Discovery and pure Agile

Host: Woody Zuill
Time: 2:10 - 3:10

I shared the idea that the nature software development involves a great deal of discovery.

The Agile Manifesto Values and Principles provide a solid philosophy that we can adopt as a guide evaluating and selecting the practices, techniques and approaches we take in doing our work.

We discussed the sort of things we might want to bring with us on an adventure of discovery, and used the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery Expidition and the base of an exercise where we worked in small groups to gather up a list of these things. (Picture below).  While many physical things were put into the list, such as tools, guns, food, water, boats, horses, and so on, the most important thing is our skills and our wits. Almost everything else can be lost, damaged, stolen, or used up, our skills and wits will serve throughout the adventure, and will actually increase and grow over time.
